Hey everyone.

I’m Max Dalton, and in this video I’ll showyou how to turn on two step verification on your Amazon account.

Your Amazon account is loaded with sensitiveinformation about you that hackers would love to get their hands on.

As a result, it’s important to take everyprecaution to protect your account.

An easy way to do that is to turn on two stepverification on your Amazon account.

Two step verification requires that anyoneaccessing your account from a new browser enter a code that’s either sent to your phonenumber or an authenticator app before accessing your account.

This ensures that even if someone has theusername and password for your Amazon account, they still won’t be able to get in.

In this video I’ll show you how to set uptwo step verification on your Amazon account using both your phone number and an authenticatorapp.

First let’s walk through how to turn on twostep verification on your Amazon account using an authenticator app.

Step 1.

Navigate to the Amazon Your Account screen.

If you’re on a web browser, click “Accountand Lists” from your Amazon home screen, and then click “Your Account.

” Alternatively, in the Amazon app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices, tap the “Menu” icon at the top of the screen, and then tap “YourAccount” in the menu.

The Your Account screen appears.

Step 2.

Click “Login and Security” on this screen.

Enter the password for your Amazon accountif prompted.

You’ll arrive at the Login and Security screen.

Step 3.

Click “Edit” next to “Two Step VerificationSettings.

” The Two Step Verification Settings screenis displayed.

Step 4.

Click “Get Started.

” You’ll land on the Enroll 2SV Authenticatorscreen, where you can choose to set up either a phone number or an authenticator app asyour primary form of two step verification for your Amazon account.

Step 5.

Select “Authenticator App.

” Launch your authenticator app and then scanthe code on the screen.

Amazon will appear in the list of accountsin your authenticator app.

Step 6.

Enter the authentication code associated withAmazon in your authenticator app, and then click “Verify OTP and Continue.

” The next screen will explain how to enterthe one time verification passcode on older devices that don’t support prompting you forit.

In those scenarios you’ll need to enter theone-time passcode at the end of your Amazon account password.

Step 7.

Scroll down to the bottom of this screen andtap “Got it.

Turn on two step verification.

” You’ll be routed back to the Two Step VerificationSettings screen, where you’ll see a note that two step verification has been turned on foryour Amazon account.

Now let’s walk through how to set up two stepverification on your Amazon account using a phone number.

Step 1.

Navigate to the Amazon Your Account screen.

If you’re on a web browser, click “Accountand Lists” from your Amazon home screen, and then click “Your Account.

” Alternatively, in the Amazon app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices, tap the “Menu” icon at the top of the screen, and then tap “YourAccount” in the menu.

Enter the password for your Amazon accountif prompted.

You’ll arrive at the Login and Security screen.

Step 3.

Click “Edit” next to “Two Step VerificationSettings.

Step 4.

Click “Get Started.

” You’ll land on the Enroll 2SV Authenticatorscreen, where you can choose to set up either a phone number or an authenticator app asyour primary form of two step verification for your Amazon account.

Step 5.

Select “Phone Number.

” Enter the phone number you want to use fortwo step verification, and then choose to receive the one-time passcode through eithera text message or phone call to that number.

Click “Continue” after making your selection.

A screen appears prompting you to enter theone-time passcode you received.

Step 6.

Enter the one-time passcode, and then click”Continue.

” Enter your Amazon account password on thenext screen if prompted.

An Almost Done screen appears, explaininghow you will log in with two step verification on older devices.

Click “Got it.

Turn on two step verification” after reviewingthis information.

You’ll be routed back to the Two Step VerificationSettings screen, where you’ll see a note that two step verification has been turned on foryour Amazon account.
